The  Chemistry Section  was established on the university foundation on 1988, the section received first batch of students on academic year (1989-1990), first batch of graduates was on (1992-1993). Most outstanding graduates were admitted to postgraduate studies. The section aims at preparing qualified graduates to work at state institutions, industrial sector, factories, research centers, environmental and health facilities, etc.

The subject of chemistry is taught in the section for four stage undergraduates. The subject covers all chemistry aspects (Analytic, Organic, Inorganic, Physical, Biochemistry and Industrial). In addition to Mathematics, Computer, etc.

The section grants Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degrees.

The section aims at developing the knowledge in chemistry and addressing environment and society through preparing alumni capable of making scientific researches and contributing to chemical industries of the public and private sector. In addition to possibility of making chemical measurements of the synthesized materials and human life requirements such as water and air.

The section, also, aims to use chemistry peacefully including ways to deal with and get rid of poisons and dangerous materials. On the other hand, the section aims, through teacher and student researches to prepare future leaders in the academic and applied fields.

Admission Requirements

  • Adopting the admission requirements for students in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (central admission).
  • Approval of the personal interview for the students by the Dean of the College and the assistants.
  • To be fit for a medical examination.
  • Student average in high school.
  • The absorptive capacity of the college.
