Pathology Department had been established in 1991 and participated in teaching histology for 2nd year and then pathology for 3rd year as well as forensic medicine for 4th year. In 2007 pathology syllabus had been changed to be given to 3rd & 4th years.
Vision: We hope to be on the top of the medical basic sciences because of the strong relationship of pathology with other clinical sciences.
Mission: Is to enable medical students to understand the basis of diseases with their complications & manifestations as well as correlation of these data with clinical courses in the next years.
Goals:
- Make the department to be a center for achievement of specific diagnostic investigations like that of tumor researches, immunostains and hematology.
- Teaching the fourth year medical students the principles of forensic medicine.
- Enable the department to be a center for postgraduate studies in pathology.
- Participates in diagnostic services and consultations in the major hospitals of the governorate.

Admission Requirements
- Adopting the admission requirements for students in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (central admission).
- Approval of the personal interview for the students by the Dean of the College and the assistants.
- To be fit for a medical examination.
- Student average in high school.
- The absorptive capacity of the college.
