The culture of Iraq is a rich source of traditional medicine and herbal medicine. At present, medicinal herbs and plants are important in what is known as alternative or supplementary medicine. The objectives of the branch of drugs and medicinal plants are to determine the quantity and quality of active substances in medicinal plants and their methods of extracting and purifying them. Other institutions to draw guidelines for the use of medicinal herbs and supplements. The above objectives can be achieved through the teaching of pharmacology and medicinal plants for the bachelor's degree.

The department is to sensitize the community on the ways in which we should use herbs, such as being examined and the information of concentration, where there is a herbal medicine constitution that proves the amount of grass that can be taken up and the concentration of the constitutional substance.

Admission Requirements

  • Adopting the admission requirements for students in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (central admission).
  • Approval of the personal interview for the students by the Dean of the College and the assistants.
  • To be fit for a medical examination.
  • Student average in high school.
  • The absorptive capacity of the college.
