The Department of Physics was established on the university foundation on 1988, the department received first batch of students on academic year (1989-1990), first batch of graduates was on (1992-1993). Most outstanding graduates were admitted to postgraduate studies.
The department aims at preparing qualified graduates to work at state institutions, industrial sector, factories, research centers, etc.
The subject of physics is taught in addition to other subjects such as mathematics, computer, etc.
The department currently grants BSc, MSc, and PhD Degrees in Physics.
The department of physics is based on an educational approach in which the students study the fundamental and advance physics during the four years. In which the students exercise an apply physics knowledge in the primary laboratories that accompanies the theoretical ideas to increase the awareness of physical phenomena, especially those that are directly related to public life. As well as the graduation research project, which lasts over a fourth year where the students are discussed through the committees formed for this purpose.
