The Women’s Studies program is administered by the Center for Women’s Studies and Gender Research. This interdisciplinary forum for graduate studies offers a Thesis M.A. These options give students the opportunity to take advantage of scholarship in this dynamic field, and to become acquainted with different research perspectives and methodologies. Students become well grounded in theories of gender in cultural systems and in ways that gender intersects with other categories of difference such as race, ethnicity, religion, class, sexuality, nation, physical and mental ability, age, and economic and civil status. Faculty and students employ feminist and other appropriate theoretical approaches and methodologies.
