The Master of Science in Medicine (Advanced) (Sleep Medicine) aims to provide students with comprehensive information on the theory and practice of sleep medicine and provide training in clinical, theoretical and research techniques in the discipline. Students must complete the requirements for the Master’s degree. The Advanced option involves completing a 12 credit point independent research project in an area of specific interest relevant to their master’s degree. Students will be guided through the steps required to plan and execute a substantial research project, and prepare a scholarly work which may be a paper for publication. The Master of Science in Medicine (Sleep Medicine) is made up of 48 credit points and you will undertake four core units of study to qualify for the award of the course. This course is offered through our interactive online learning environment, giving you the flexibility to tailor your study schedule around your lifestyle. If you wish to get some on-campus experience, some elective units are offered face-to-face, but these can be avoided depending on your preferences.

Admission to the course requires: completion of the requirements for the Master of Science in Medicine (Sleep Medicine); an average mark of at least 75% in 4 x compulsory and/or stream units of study; any other requirements as stated by the Faculty at the time of application; and at least 12 months of relevant work experience.
