This double degree gives you the opportunity to study science before undertaking dentistry. With a deeper understanding of the scientific fundamentals that underpin dentistry, you will graduate prepared for a rewarding career. Designed for high school leavers who have achieved outstanding results, you will study a three-year undergraduate science degree, followed by the four-year Doctor of Dental Medicine. This course is accredited by the Australian Dental Council (ADC) and approved by the Dental Board of Australia. Graduates can apply for registration as a dental specialist with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA). Our science and dentistry graduates can be found in a broad range of roles and careers, including: Academia, Defence forces, Oral health research, Private practice, and Public service (hospitals, schools, health departments). Admission to this course is on the basis of the following criteria: A secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents) and an online assessment process including a written assessment followed by a panel discussion. The results of this assessment will form part of the ranking of the applicants. This course has a Mathematics prerequisite. You are expected to have studied the following subjects in high school to succeed in this course: Mathematics Advanced and/or higher (depending on units of study selected) and Other assumed knowledge depends on majors or units of study chosen.
