The first of its kind in Australia, two of the world's leading institutions for the humanities and social sciences - the University of Sydney's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Sciences Po in France - have come together to offer students a dual degree program. This program is designed for anyone interested in furthering their studies in French and learning about other cultures while living in France for 2 years. The program offers an international learning experience and the opportunity to apply this learning to an Australian context. Subjects are taught in English, although you may select French as your language proficiency increases. You can also choose to add another year at Sydney with the Bachelor of Advanced Studies.

This program is highly competitive. Admission to the program is determined jointly by the University of Sydney and Sciences Po, based on the following criteria:

  • A secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents) with the minimum academic results required for the  Bachelor of Arts
    Note: only recent high school leavers are eligible, no transfer students permitted
  • Submission of a statement of motivation, CV and academic transcripts. See the 'How to Apply' section for more details
  • Panel interview via teleconference
  • Meet the higher of the English language requirements of the two partner institutions. For details, check the  Sciences Po English language requirements .
