In January 2014, National Yang-Ming University first applied to the Ministry of Education for the establishment of a Department of Pharmacy. In September 2015, the Ministry approved the establishment of a new (six-year) Department of Pharmacy, awarding graduates the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. The department officially launched in August 2016, with Professor Lin Manyu serving as the founding dean (2016-2011). The first class of the National Yang-Ming University Department of Pharmacy was admitted in September of the same year. To cultivate advanced pharmaceutical professionals and research talent, the department applied to the Ministry of Education in the 2019 academic year and received approval to establish a master's program in pharmacy. Integrating the existing Clinical Pharmacy Division (established in 2008) and Pharmacy Division (established in 2015) of the Faculty of Medicine's Institute of Pharmacology, the master's program is divided into: (A) Pharmaceutical Technology Division, (B) Clinical Pharmacy Division, and (C) Social and Managerial Pharmacy Division. The first class enrolled in the 2020 academic year. On February 1, 2011, National Yang-Ming University and National Chiao Tung University merged to form National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University. Since then, our department has become the Department of Pharmacy of National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University. In June 2012, our department sent off the first batch of bachelor's and master's students.
