Our master's program was established in July 1989, becoming the first graduate school of health care management at a public university in Taiwan. Its inception coincided with a period of rapid transformation in health insurance, necessitating the rapid and drastic changes facing healthcare institutions. Consequently, healthcare management became crucial to the healthy development and sustainability of hospitals. To meet these demands, our institute established a Master's of Extension Education (Master's) program in 1997, followed by a dedicated in-service program in 2001. In 2013, in response to the needs of our affiliated hospital, we launched a Master's of Extension Education (Master's) program in Yilan, enrolling approximately 30 students annually. In its early years, our institute occupied classrooms on the sixth floor of our research building. In 1994, we relocated to our current location on the fifth floor of the Nursing Building. Recent consolidation of public health facilities has resulted in significantly more space for teaching, research, and student study. In our 35-year history, our institute has graduated 750 students.
