Life science research and the development of related biomedical technologies have become a new direction actively pursued by humanity worldwide in recent years. With the attention and support of governments around the world, an increasing number of scientists are dedicating themselves to related research fields, and life science has now become one of the most rapidly developing cutting-edge technologies. Beyond curiosity about the mysteries of nature, facing various survival issues such as increasing life expectancy, population growth, and dwindling natural resources, in addition to deeper exploration of existing biological knowledge, more groundbreaking scientific technologies are needed to solve these problems. However, the complexity of life issues and the meticulousness of scientific and technological development, along with the question of where to find talent in these cutting-edge technologies, all highlight the importance and challenge of training life science research personnel.
The goal of this Bachelor of Life Science is to cultivate basic talents with knowledge of modern life sciences and enthusiastic research, and at the same time, cultivate students with sound psychology and civic responsibility that should be possessed by modern social life. The teaching content includes the core courses of life science - general introduction to life science, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology, physiology, evolution and ecology. In the course arrangement, in addition to strengthening the instillation of high-tech knowledge, it also focuses on the cultivation and improvement of students' experimental skills. In practice, it is emphasized that students have the opportunity to directly participate in the research project, using small class teaching, and encouraging students to do it by themselves to cultivate interest.
