Facing the future competitive environment with globalization, our country has imperious demands to build up an international environment which can develop scientists and technicians with globalization. The establishment of University System of Taiwan (UST) International Ph.D. Program in Photonics (IPPP) will help with the work of setting up the international environment in Taiwan to develop Photonics scientists and technicians with globalization.
 
University system of Taiwan (UST) was established on January 24, 2008, to break through developmental and structural impasse obstructing creative integration of research personnel and resources in higher education in Taiwan. The UST aims to actively forge close communication and cooperation among the four top universities involved. They are National Ying Ming Chiao Tung University, National Tsing Hua University, and National Central University.

In this era of globalization in industry and academics, UST strives to be committed to the campus internationalization in Taiwan. To fulfill this task, we are now integrating all international Ph.D. programs in Photonics, and aim to offer a complete range of services for all Ph.D. students from around the world.
