Programme overview
Main Subject
Engineering - Electrical and Electronic
Degree
MSc
Study Level
Masters
Study Mode
On Campus
Our curriculum is divided into two main research areas: Semiconductor Materials and Device Technologies, and Semiconductor IC Design and Micro-system Integration.
The Semiconductor Materials and Device Technologies series focuses on post-Moore's Law technology development, covering the "More Moore" and "More than Moore" directions. The former emphasizes advanced process technologies (such as below 3 nanometers) for device miniaturization, novel transistor architectures, and advanced materials; the latter emphasizes application-oriented technologies such as quantum devices, power devices (SiC, GaN), sensors, and biomedical chips, combined with advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration to support diverse application needs.
The Semiconductor IC Design and Micro-system Integration series, in response to the development of artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, 6G communication, and smart applications, focuses on "device-level circuit design" and "system-level architecture integration." The curriculum covers low-power design, AI chips, 3D ICs, and chiplets, cultivating students' ability to design high-performance chips and integrate systems. The foundational courses are "Digital Integrated Circuits" and "Analog Integrated Circuits," extending to advanced applications such as memory design, RF and millimeter-wave circuits. Please refer to the National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) course schedule for actual course times, content, and outlines. Graduation credits, subjects, and related enrollment requirements are subject to the " Master's and Doctoral Program Course Requirements " published by the Academic Affairs Office for the year of enrollment .
