Audiology is the study of the ear, hearing and balance, and Healthcare Science is the use of scientific methods to test and treat people who have health conditions. Healthcare scientists in Audiology work in hospitals and health clinics, assessing people’s hearing and balance, and managing conditions such as hearing loss, tinnitus and balance disorders. Audiologists deal with people from all walks of life and all ages, from new-born babies to elderly people, so enjoying interaction with people and having excellent communication skills are essential for the role. This course is part of the NHS Practitioner Training Programme in Neurosensory Sciences. It has an integrated placement in each year in clinical practice. Graduates from the course are eligible to apply to register with the Academy of Healthcare Science, Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists and the Health & Care Professions Council
