Sociology and Social Policy is a multi-disciplinary programme that examines the major economic and social issues facing governments across the world, and the policies developed and delivered by governments and other organisations. On this course, students will investigate the economic, social and political forces which influence government decision-making, and which give rise to conflict between the achievement of economic, environmental and social objectives. Students will also examine why governments take decisions in key policy areas and develop a detailed understanding of processes of policy making at a global, national and local levels of government.
