The BA/BS plus MD Accelerated Degree program allows students the opportunity to enter the Drexel University College of Medicine after three years of undergraduate study at Drexel. The program is open to majors in Biomedical Engineering (4-year with co-op), Engineering (4-year with co-op) and to Biology, Chemistry and Psychology majors in the College of Arts and Sciences. The majority of BA/BS plus MD students at Drexel are Biology majors. This is a highly accomplished group of students that are committed to pursuing a career in medicine. Qualified incoming freshmen must be ranked in the top 10 percent of their class, have a minimum 3.5 GPA on a weighted 4.0 scale and a combined SAT of at least 1360 or ACT score of 31. Entering classes admitted to the BA/BS plus MD program had an average GPA of 3.94 and an average combined SAT score of 1527 or ACT 34 composite. Decisions on acceptance to the MS/MD program are made by the medical school admission committee at the Drexel College of Medicine. Accepted students must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA in all coursework including all STEM courses while an undergraduate, without repeating a course and with no grade less than a C. The MCAT is required to articulate.

Applicants to Drexel University are expected to have completed the high school curriculum that will best prepare them for freshman-year studies at the college level. Four years of mathematics (algebra I and II, geometry, trigonometry) Two years of a laboratory science (biology, chemistry, or physics) English Language requirement: Students have a first (or native) language is English. They have studied at a high school for a minimum of three years where English is the primary language of instruction. We strongly recommend that students who choose this exemption still submit both the SAT or ACT and TOEFL or IELTS exams to demonstrate English language proficiency. They have received a minimum score of 600 on the SAT Critical Reasoning section or a minimum score of 27 on the ACT English section.
