With a long history, the program has cultivated a number of renowned scholars who have made significant contributions to the development of human geography in China, such as Professor Cao Tingfan, one of the founders of Chinese economic geography, and Professor Xu Xueqiang, one of the founders of modern urban geography in China. After decades of development, the program has become a top-tier human geography talent training base in China with considerable international influence, leading the way in discipline and professional development.
