The Mathematics program was established when the university was founded in 1924. It is a doctoral program, a provincial-level key discipline, and a national base for basic scientific research and teaching talent cultivation in the sciences. This program focuses on cultivating students' mastery of fundamental mathematical theories and methods, enabling them to reach the forefront of international scientific research, produce original theoretical and applied results, and become leading mathematical talents with an international perspective, contributing to enhancing my country's scientific and technological strength and promoting economic development. Adhering to the development philosophy of "quality first," the program is committed to improving its disciplinary system, enhancing its strength, and building itself into an internationally leading program. It has already established academic exchanges and joint student training programs with more than 60 universities, including the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, Princeton University, Harvard University, and Yale University.
