The Doctorate of Science in Epidemiological Research is a doctorate that began its first four promotions subsidized by scholarships granted by FONDECYT. Due to the success achieved academically and scientifically, the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia now offers this doctorate to the general public, maintaining quality and granting the degree of Doctor of Science in Epidemiological Research, as the highest level of academic training for a researcher in Epidemiology.. The doctorate is taught by more than 30 PhDs internationally renowned researchers graduated from universities in the United States and Europe, most of them graduated from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University.Our faculty are dedicated full time to research in Peru and work in nationally and internationally recognized institutions.
Our students learn how to be independent researchers from the best researchers in the field, joining prominent highly productive research groups and receiving mentoring from experienced PhD researchers of great international prestige as thesis directors. Our doctoral students generate new scientific knowledge to be published in important international journals and have active participation in national and international scientific events as well as in postgraduate teaching. Multiple graduates have successfully competed for and obtained their own grants to conduct research or train.
This doctorate was created in 2016 under the auspices of FONDECYT for its first four promotions, as well as the Fogarty International Center of the National Institutes of Health, which will continue until 2025.
