The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics of the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia, teaches Master's and Second Specialization programs, with the purpose of updating the knowledge of professionals in the different fields of veterinary sciences, in order to promote the constant training of professionals of animal health, public health, environmental health and food safety.
One of the bases for the development of veterinary sciences is found in research, which, based on the correct application of the scientific method, favors obtaining reliable and extrapolated results within the different fields of human endeavor. The research has contributed to the improvement of knowledge of animal diseases and zoonoses, it has made it possible to find new treatments favoring the recovery of animal health, practices in the safe production of animal products and by-products have been improved, it has been studied and evaluated the impact that productive farms have on the environment, among other topics that are the responsibility of veterinary medicine.
In the field of Veterinary Medicine, development is dizzying and many professionals carry out their activities successfully in private practice, being summoned as teachers to the University in order to transfer updated knowledge and their experiences to future professionals. However, with the enactment of the new university law, teachers are required to have at least a master's degree to continue teaching at the university. For this reason, the occasion is propitious to commune the interests of field professionals for the development of research activities and that of university institutions to continue counting on them as a teacher through a specialized master's degree such as the one proposed: MASTER'S DEGREE IN RESEARCH IN VETERINARY SCIENCES.
