We have an excellent Department composed of sixteen graduate faculty and approximately 30 graduate students in residence. In addition, there are 11 graduate faculty members in other colleges who are affiliated with our program. Our program emphasizes preparing graduate students for a variety of career options in academic and applied settings by building foundational sociological knowledge and skills and providing professional development opportunities. New full-time students are admitted only for the fall semester. Part-time students can be admitted for the spring semester. Financial assistance is available in the form of teaching assistantships, research assistantships, and university fellowships. The number of assistantships available to students varies from year to year. It is highly competitive
