Medicine at Aalborg University offers a versatile form of study, where learning takes place in groups. The groups work with a combination of problem-oriented project work, lectures and internships at the hospital's many different departments. Along the way, you will practically and theoretically deal with everything from general medicine and psychiatry to surgery, pathology and much more.
When you study medicine, among other things. dealing with the body, you yourself must both put body to examinations and examine your fellow students.  As a student of Medicine at Aalborg University, you commit to participating in group work and contributing to a fruitful learning environment. You will primarily work with problem-based learning (PBL), which is used in several forms throughout the study. The largest part is practiced through case-oriented PBL in the form of a combination of supervised group work and more free group work which is supported by a mixture of lectures, study hall exercises, clinical exercises and clinic stays related to the various subject areas. A small part of the education is based on project-oriented PBL, where you will focus on your academic competencies and sniff for medical research.

Aalborg University offers interdisciplinary studies where bachelor courses (basic study programmes) are followed by masters and Ph.D. courses (subsequent specialisation). The university offers 10 different undergraduate programmes in English across five faculties:

  • The Faculty of Humanities
  • The Technical Faculty of IT and Design

Each of the five faculties has its own schools with full time bachelor education spanning over three years and designed to prepare students for master and Ph.D. education at a high academic and international level.
