During the two-year Master, we cover challenges related to each of the specific infrastructure sectors, present specific tools for quantifying and analysing the challenges as well as understand how policy, citizens, practice and organisations influence sustainable transitions.
The graduates from this Master of Science are educated to be capable of creating the framework for the Sustainable Cities of the future, where economic, social, technical and environmental elements are integrated in new ways. By understanding technical elements of the sustainable engineering solutions, but also being able to facilitate change in political and economic systems, the Sustainable Cities engineer can play an important role in the sustainable transition as a sustainable city planner.

Admission Requirements
To enter this master programme you must have a relevant bachelor’s degree.
Applicants with a legal right of admission (retskrav)
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Engineering in Urban, Energy and Environmental Planning, Aalborg University (Campus Copenhagen)
Applicants without legal right of admission
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Engineering (Surveying, Planning and Land Management), Aalborg University
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Geography, Aalborg University
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Engineering in Urban, Energy and Environmental Planning, Aalborg University (Campus Aalborg)
Students with similar bachelor degrees within engineering or geography are qualified for the programme. However, all applications for the master programme are evaluated individually and the relevancy of the bachelor degree is evaluated through this process.
