Sustainable Building Processes is a Bachelor of Science in Engineering programme where students are educated as building engineers with a strong focus on sustainability in construction, energy efficiency, indoor climate, and project management. The programme combines technical, environmental, and social science aspects and prepares students for interdisciplinary collaboration within the construction industry.

Students learn about building technology (including energy, indoor environment, materials, and structures), building operation and user behaviour, as well as management of construction processes. The study model is project-oriented and based on group work, giving students skills in teamwork and project management. Throughout the programme, students work with current themes such as CO₂-neutral building materials, digital building modelling, and the overall economy of construction projects. In the final bachelor project, students design sustainable building projects with a focus on circular economy.

Career opportunities for graduates range from project management to consultancy in contractor or engineering companies, for example as cost calculation specialists, sustainability experts, or in interdisciplinary coordination. Because job opportunities with only a bachelor’s degree are limited, many graduates continue with a master’s degree in Sustainable Building Processes.
