Applied Philosophy is an education with a focus on the possibilities of philosophy in specific areas of practice: eg organizations, politics, culture, sustainability and health. In the education you get strong skills in reflection, analysis and argumentation. You also get a broad professional insight into, among other things:
  • History of philosophy and theory of argumentation
  • Ethics and political philosophy
  • Theory of science, epistemology and metaphysics
AAU's education in applied philosophy is the only one of its kind in Denmark. The unique focus on practice areas is evident both in the traditional philosophical subjects (eg 'Ethics', 'Theory of Cognition and Metaphysics', 'Philosophy of Science', etc.) and not least in the practice-oriented modules such as 'Environmental Philosophy', 'Health Philosophy', 'Organizational Philosophy' 'as well as the elective subject' Philosophical dialogue and counseling '.  An education in Applied Philosophy provides many job opportunities within e.g. teaching, dissemination, consultancy work, project and development work. Through electives, choice of project topics and side subjects, you have the opportunity to organize your education to suit your interests, and you can target it to the areas that you are passionate about.
