Sociology is the science of society or "the social", and sociologists are particularly concerned with examining how society is interconnected and why it is changing. As a sociology student, you learn about both social microprocesses - for example a greeting between two people on a street corner - and macro conditions - eg globalization, new social movements and social and economic inequality. You learn about the relationship between individual and society, about the relationship between the normal and the deviant, and about the relationship between society's mainstream culture and different subcultures.
Through an education in Sociology, you learn to describe modern Danish society in order to be able to compare it with other societies. You learn about sociological theories that can contribute to an understanding of and an explanation of the structure, structure and development of society. And you also learn sociological methods of examining societal conditions.
