Chinese Area Studies (CAS) is a specialization under the Study Board of International Affairs.  The specialization in Chinese Area Studies enables students to focus on China as a particular field of study within their chosen MA program. Chinese Area Studies provides an interdisciplinary understanding of Chinese society, history and culture, economic and political development, as well as China's engagement with the world and its impact on the world economy and international relations. A series of weekly lectures introduces various aspects of contemporary China in an integrated and interdisciplinary manner. This allows students to analyze China-related issues from a multi-faceted perspective.

Admission Requirements

To enroll in the CAS specialization, you have to apply to one of the following MA programs:

  • Development and International Relations
  • European Studies
  • Culture, Communication & Globalization
  • International Virksomhedskommunikation, Engelsk (Programme in Danish)

Successful completion of a relevant and recognised university Bachelor’s degree equivalent to a Danish Bachelor’s degree in level and length (180 ECTS).
