Students gain fundamental knowledge in materials science, polymer chemistry, fiber mechanics, fabric formation, dyeing and finishing, apparel design, and quality control. In addition, the program offers training in modern textile applications such as smart textiles, nonwovens, composites, and biomimetic materials. Students benefit from hands-on laboratory practices, computer-aided design (CAD), and application opportunities in textile factories and research centers.
The department maintains strong collaborations with the textile industry, providing students with internship opportunities and industry-oriented project experiences. Students are encouraged to tackle real-world problems and supported in developing innovative ideas. Throughout the educational process, special emphasis is placed on sustainability, eco-friendly technologies, and circular economy approaches.
Graduates are well-prepared for careers in textile production, R&D, quality assurance, technical sales, product development, and academia. They are also equipped with the interdisciplinary skills necessary to work in areas such as automotive, medical, and technical textiles. The program is supported by an expert academic staff, modern laboratory infrastructure, and participation in national and international research projects. Students can benefit from international mobility opportunities through Erasmus+ and similar exchange programs. The language of instruction is Turkish, but technical English is integrated into the curriculum to help students gain global competencies.
