Our faculty was established with the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 2015-8052 published in the Official Gazette dated 27.08.2015 and numbered 29458. With the letter dated 23.10.2015 and numbered 75850160-11.03.01/57864 of the Department of Education and Training of the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education, two departments as Private Law Department and Public Law Department and a total of 13 departments under these departments were opened within our Faculty. The Department of Private Law has a total of seven departments, including the Department of Civil Law, the Department of Commercial Law, the Department of Private International Law, the Department of Labor and Social Security Law, the Department of Maritime Law, the Department of Roman Law and the Department of Civil Procedure and Bankruptcy Law. The Department of Public Law consists of eight departments: Department of Constitutional Law, Department of Administrative Law, Department of Criminal and Criminal Procedure, Department of General Public Law, Department of Philosophy and Sociology of Law, Department of International Law, Department of Financial Law and Department of Legal History. The undergraduate program of our Faculty of Law gave its first graduates at the end of the 2023-2024 academic year. A total of fifteen faculty members, 4 in 2019, 5 in 2020, 3 in 2022, 2 in 2023 and 1 in 2024, were included in our staff. A total of 44 research assistants were recruited, 9 in 2016, 10 in 2017, 9 in 2020 and 15 in 2021.
