Political Science and Public Administration is an interdisciplinary field that analyzes and seeks to improve the political and economic functions of the public sector, as well as the relationship between public institutions and the citizens to whom they provide goods and services. Closely related to disciplines such as philosophy and law, political science addresses the structures, personnel, policies, practices, and methods required for the executive branch of the state to function more effectively and efficiently.
Our department aims to train highly qualified individuals who can take part in political processes and assume upper- and mid-level management positions in the public and private sectors, as well as in legal institutions. In addition to offering a solid theoretical foundation, the program equips students with analytical thinking and a critical perspective. Accordingly, our graduates are able to follow contemporary developments in the field of political science and public administration and engage with global changes in a reflective and questioning manner.
The curriculum of this interdisciplinary program includes courses in political science, social sciences, urbanization and environmental issues, the history of political thought, local governments, the origins and nature of the state, constitutional law, and public law. Our graduates are well-positioned to pursue a wide range of career opportunities in both the public and private sectors.

Admission Requirements

Candidates must have successfully completed a secondary education (high school) program and must meet the national requirements for university entrance in Turkey. For domestic students, this includes obtaining a sufficient score on the YKS (Higher Education Institutions Exam). International applicants must present an acceptable high school diploma or equivalent and may be required to submit a valid score from recognized exams such as SAT, ACT, or other equivalent international qualifications. Proficiency in Turkish may also be required, depending on the language of instruction. English proficiency might be necessary for courses partially or fully taught in English. Detailed admission criteria are provided annually by the university and are subject to change.
