The
Department of Chemistry consists of the branches of Analytical Chemistry,
Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Biochemistry.
This department aims to train chemists who have learned to think
scientifically and have adopted the principle of examining and solving
problems that may arise in their professional lives; and who have the
qualifications and basic knowledge to adapt to science and technology as well
as to contribute, as well as future scientist candidates. During their
education; graduates who are equipped with the accumulation of knowledge to
interpret chemistry correctly, conduct research / development studies and
internalize modern analysis techniques on a theoretical and practical basis;
also carry the awareness of remaining contemporary, modern and knowledgeable
throughout their lives with the help of the information access techniques
taught to them. Research laboratories for postgraduate education are equipped
with devices at a level that can conduct scientific research with projects
received from TÜBİTAK and Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University (BAP).

Admission Requirements
1) In
order to apply to the doctoral program, candidates must have a bachelor's or
master's degree, a diploma from a faculty of medicine, dentistry or
veterinary medicine of at least ten semesters excluding preparatory classes,
a bachelor's or master's degree from a faculty of pharmacy and science, or a
specialist authority gained in a laboratory branch according to the
principles regulated by the Ministry of Health, and must have a minimum of 55
standard points in the score type of the program applied for from ALES or be
successful in internationally accepted exams whose equivalence is accepted by
the Senate instead of the ALES result and whose success base points are
determined, and those who apply with a bachelor's degree must have a minimum
of 70 standard points in the score type of the program applied for from ALES.
(2) In accepting students to doctoral programs, the success grade is
calculated by adding 20% of the weighted undergraduate grade point average
of applicants with a bachelor's degree, 20% of the weighted graduate grade
point average of applicants with a master's degree, 50% of the standard score
obtained from ALES, and 30% of the score obtained as a result of the
interview conducted by the jury established by the institute's board of
directors for each department. In order for a candidate to be considered
successful, their success grade must be at least 70. Students are accepted
according to the announced quota by ranking from the highest score to the
lowest. However, in order to accept students to the doctoral program, a
minimum score of 55 from ÜDS or an equivalent score from an exam accepted by
the Interuniversity Board is required, and for foreign students, a minimum
score of 55 from ÜDS or an equivalent score from an exam accepted by the
Interuniversity Board in a language other than their mother tongue, such as
English, French or German, is required. The university senate is authorized
to increase these minimum scores according to the characteristics of the
programs to be entered.
