In this context, the Department of Painting, which carries out its educational activities, aims to raise individuals who contribute to the spread and promotion of art culture, who have universal thoughts and values, strong visual perception, and who are innovative and free-thinking, by observing a contemporary and qualified educational approach. When we look at the world in general, the place and importance of art and artists in social life in countries that are considered developed and have a high level of welfare has an undeniable visibility. One of the most fundamental goals of our department is to make a superior effort for the education of individuals who can achieve worldwide success with the power and influence of art, while benefiting the geography and country where they are raised.
Our department provides education in the undergraduate program of painting, which is considered the foundation of all visual arts, carries a tradition of thousands of years and is still one of the disciplines that has not lost its relevance today. The painting department is one of the fine arts departments with the highest rate of preference by students because it is an area where all plastic arts come together on a common ground. Our department accepts students with a special talent exam, which is a method used to measure the visual intelligence and manual skills of candidates, organized for candidates who receive sufficient scores from central placement exams.
Students who graduate from the Department of Painting receive a bachelor's degree in painting. In addition to working as freelance artists, graduates have the opportunity to work in the art departments of private public institutions, as curators in museums and galleries, as art consultants, art directors (in the fields of cinema, theater, advertising), art critics, and as lecturers in fine arts and education faculties; and those who receive an education certificate have the opportunity to work as art educators in secondary schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education.
