The main purpose of the Biology department is to train biologists who are aware of professional ethics and values, who have adopted lifelong learning as a principle, who are equipped with knowledge and skills in both theoretical and applied biology fields, who have adopted biological thought and interpretation, who are suitable for the age and can guide the age. Master's and doctoral programs, where research is intensive, are completed with courses selected from the field of biology. The aim of these programs is to train qualified researchers who will meet the needs of the country. Courses at all levels of education are given by department faculty members and some courses by faculty members from outside the department. In addition, students who meet the necessary conditions within the framework of the ERASMUS Program increase their knowledge, skills and experience at universities abroad. Our department is a dynamic department that has adopted the principle of continuous renewal and increasing its quality in order to reach a better level of education and develop research activities.

Admission Requirements

1) In order to apply to the doctoral program, candidates must have a bachelor's or master's degree, a diploma from a faculty of medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine of at least ten semesters excluding preparatory classes, a bachelor's or master's degree from a faculty of pharmacy and science, or a specialist authority gained in a laboratory branch according to the principles regulated by the Ministry of Health, and must have a minimum of 55 standard points in the score type of the program applied for from ALES or be successful in internationally accepted exams whose equivalence is accepted by the Senate instead of the ALES result and whose success base points are determined, and those who apply with a bachelor's degree must have a minimum of 70 standard points in the score type of the program applied for from ALES. (2) In accepting students to doctoral programs, the success grade is calculated by adding 20% ​​of the weighted undergraduate grade point average of applicants with a bachelor's degree, 20% of the weighted graduate grade point average of applicants with a master's degree, 50% of the standard score obtained from ALES, and 30% of the score obtained as a result of the interview conducted by the jury established by the institute's board of directors for each department. In order for a candidate to be considered successful, their success grade must be at least 70. Students are accepted according to the announced quota by ranking from the highest score to the lowest. However, in order to accept students to the doctoral program, a minimum score of 55 from ÜDS or an equivalent score from an exam accepted by the Interuniversity Board is required, and for foreign students, a minimum score of 55 from ÜDS or an equivalent score from an exam accepted by the Interuniversity Board in a language other than their mother tongue, such as English, French or German, is required. The university senate is authorized to increase these minimum scores according to the characteristics of the programs to be entered.
