Department of Plant Protection is under the roof of the Department of Plant
Protection and aims to provide qualified education that can easily adapt to
changing conditions in universal education and research and that complies
with international standards.
It has been accredited by the "Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Agricultural Faculties Education Programs (ZİDEK)", which has reinforced these standards since March 2023, until 2025. Our department tries to prepare its graduates for both the public and private sectors with the necessary courses for life and to equip them for a good future. In a rapidly globalizing world, our greatest goal is for you to grow up as individuals who understand our country and international conditions, who can produce projects related to the future province and who have self-confidence. Our department has achieved its goal of being an exemplary department with student-faculty relations. The necessary opportunities are created for friends who want to do laboratory studies.
Postgraduate students conduct master's and doctoral studies in the sub-research fields of Entomology, Phytopathology, Bacteriology, Herbology, Virology, Mycology on the basis of scientific research, especially regional problems in the field of Plant Protection.

Admission Requirements
1) In
order to apply to the doctoral program, candidates must have a bachelor's or
master's degree, a diploma from a faculty of medicine, dentistry or
veterinary medicine of at least ten semesters excluding preparatory classes,
a bachelor's or master's degree from a faculty of pharmacy and science, or a
specialist authority gained in a laboratory branch according to the
principles regulated by the Ministry of Health, and must have a minimum of 55
standard points in the score type of the program applied for from ALES or be
successful in internationally accepted exams whose equivalence is accepted by
the Senate instead of the ALES result and whose success base points are
determined, and those who apply with a bachelor's degree must have a minimum
of 70 standard points in the score type of the program applied for from ALES.
(2) In accepting students to doctoral programs, the success grade is
calculated by adding 20% of the weighted undergraduate grade point average
of applicants with a bachelor's degree, 20% of the weighted graduate grade
point average of applicants with a master's degree, 50% of the standard score
obtained from ALES, and 30% of the score obtained as a result of the
interview conducted by the jury established by the institute's board of
directors for each department. In order for a candidate to be considered
successful, their success grade must be at least 70. Students are accepted
according to the announced quota by ranking from the highest score to the
lowest. However, in order to accept students to the doctoral program, a
minimum score of 55 from ÜDS or an equivalent score from an exam accepted by
the Interuniversity Board is required, and for foreign students, a minimum
score of 55 from ÜDS or an equivalent score from an exam accepted by the
Interuniversity Board in a language other than their mother tongue, such as
English, French or German, is required. The university senate is authorized
to increase these minimum scores according to the characteristics of the
programs to be entered.
