The primary purpose of this educational programme is to train highly qualified political scientists capable of applying the theories and methods of political science to solve complex specialized tasks and practical issues within the political sphere. The programme is designed to ensure the acquisition of fundamental knowledge, skills, and abilities that form and develop the core competencies necessary for both further academic study and professional activity in the field of political science. Furthermore, it aims to cultivate a professional outlook in graduates, enabling them to tackle intricate theoretical and practical challenges in both domestic and foreign policy, analyze interactions between states, international organizations, and non-state actors, and acquire the necessary expertise for conducting robust political analysis.
The programme's subject area focuses on political relations between various actors and institutions at local, national, and global levels (politics, policy, polity). Objects of study include classical and modern political thought, power and governance structures, political systems, institutions, processes, and behaviour, public policy, political culture and ideology, as well as world politics and the specific politics of individual countries and regions. The theoretical content spans normative and empirical political theory, political methodology, comparative and applied political science, international and global studies, political communications, and specialized political science disciplines. To achieve these goals, students are trained in various methods, techniques, and technologies, including quantitative and qualitative research methods and analytical tools for political sphere analysis, utilizing modern ICT equipment and relevant software applications.
This Bachelor’s educational-professional programme has an applied orientation, specifically aimed at preparing graduates for professional activity that demands a comprehensive approach to identifying and characterizing various aspects of political science and developmental trends in countries across their ethno-national, cultural-historical, socio-political, and socio-economic dimensions. The main focus of the professional training is the study of the system of political relations and both domestic and foreign policy processes (cooperation, integration, international conflicts). This theoretical and applied preparation is enhanced through collaboration with structural units of public authorities, international organizations, and is underpinned by mandatory foreign language proficiency. A key feature of the programme is the thorough training in the historical-cultural, socio-political, ethno-national, and socio-economic development of countries worldwide. Practical training is integral, placing specialists in the real environment of their future professional activity, leveraging the latest scientific and practical achievements, and implementing a systematic approach in forming the content of profile-oriented academic disciplines.
