The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme in Political Science is designed to prepare highly qualified scholars capable of conducting original research and advancing modern political theory and practice. The programme integrates advanced theoretical, methodological, and analytical training, enabling doctoral candidates to explore and interpret political institutions, governance systems, global political processes, and the dynamics of power, democracy, and public policy.

Doctoral students acquire the ability to apply comparative, empirical, and digital research methods to investigate complex political phenomena at local, national, and international levels. Special attention is given to issues of globalisation, European integration, international security, political communication, and the transformation of political systems in the context of contemporary global challenges.

The curriculum combines individual research under academic supervision, participation in research seminars and conferences, and the preparation of peer-reviewed publications. The programme promotes intellectual independence, ethical responsibility, and academic excellence.

Graduates are well prepared for professional careers in higher education, research institutions, public administration, international organisations, and analytical centres. They are expected to contribute to evidence-based policymaking and to the development of democratic governance, political culture, and civic participation.
