The MClinDent (Advance Training) in Prosthodontics is an intensive clinical, academic and research programme across the disciplines of fixed and removable prosthodontics, including implant dentistry. It is offered as a full-time (three year) or part time (four year) programme. The programme length and content satisfies the training requirements to sit the Membership in Restorative Dentistry (MRD) or Prosthodontics (MPros) examination.
Students will gain theoretical and comprehensive clinical experience necessary to undertake advanced and complex restorative treatments, including planning and provision of fixed, removable and implant supported prostheses. Graduates are capable of providing treatment in a holistic and comprehensive manner. Graduates can critically think and appraise scientific literature, be problem solvers and develop an attitude of life-long learning.
Students undertake modules to the value of 360 credits. All modules are compulsory.
The programme consists of eight core modules (270 credits) and a dissertation module (90 credits). These taught credit-bearing components are completed in 2 years in FT mode or 3 years in PT mode of training. The last year of study (Year 3 for FT students and year 4 for PT students) is non-credit bearing.
Upon successful completion of 540 credits, you will be awarded a MClinDent in Prosthodontics (Advanced Training).
