The Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology (LMCB) at UCL is dedicated to cutting-edge research that uncovers the molecular and cellular mechanisms driving cell behaviour, particularly in relation to human disease. We seek exceptional candidates who have secured external funding and are eager to contribute to our vibrant research community. Alternatively, we can provide deferred conditional offers to help suitably qualified students to secure external funding.
Our four-year Molecular Cell Biology PhD programme at the LMCB provides rigorous, in-depth training in fundamental cell and tissue biology. Students engage in world-class research within an internationally competitive environment, benefiting from first-year rotations across three different laboratories and a bespoke tutorial series that enhances both scientific expertise and interdisciplinary understanding.
Applications are accepted year-round with the PhD programme starting each October.
