The Specialty in Environmental Education arises from the need to respond to the strengthening of teachers in relation to specific and updated knowledge of national and global environmental problems. This will allow them to develop skills to design, develop and implement activities and projects in their schools that, on the one hand, strengthen the quality of their teaching practice and, on the other, motivate their students to relate to the environment in a responsible way. These skills are developed from the performance of various activities that promote the sustainable use and conservation of the natural resources of the Dominican Republic, based on didactic approaches that allow the teaching of caring for the environment and the cultivation of a culture of resilience to climate change. The accumulation of knowledge and skills that a teacher will develop when completing the Specialty in Environmental Education will allow them to bring environmental issues to the classrooms of the country's schools from the perspectives assumed in the program.
