In general, these systems can have software components and physical elements operating in an integrated manner, where professionals must be aware of the impact that the physical components have on the software. These physical components correspond to computer hardware or other electronic, mechanical, or chemical devices that must be controlled by computing. As a result of their operation, computer systems produce data that is transmitted through networks such as the Internet, stored in databases, and analyzed to support decision-making processes.
Within this framework, Computer Systems Engineering seeks practical, engineering-specific solutions to real-world problems, utilizing ICT technologies with a solid scientific foundation.
