The MSc Cell Biology course studies the mechanisms that define and regulate the function of cells and organisms. On this research-focused master's course, students will take an interactive approach to learning, rather than taking traditional lectures. Through seminars, workshops, small group tutorials and research placements, students will learn the concepts and techniques used in cutting-edge research in cell biology and how knowledge of the field can be applied to various fields of research. Students can apply their learning to their own research projects. This course requires the completion of 180 credits, in which 120 credits are project based and 60 credits are from transferable skills units such as laboratory skills, experimental design, statistics, bioethics (included in the tutorial and workshop unit) and science communication.
