The four-year MSpchLangTher Speech and Language Therapy course will prepare students to work as a speech and language therapist who treats, supports and cares for those with communication, eating, drinking or swallowing problems, as well as opening up a path into postgraduate research and/or a research career. Depending on student’s performance in Years 1 to 3, students may extend their studies by a year to undertake an integrated master's. Otherwise, students will earn a BSc in Speech and Language Therapy  at the end of Year 3. Students will develop the core theoretical knowledge and specialist clinical skills required by the speech and language therapy profession while learning the academic study skills needed to earn a higher education qualification. Graduates may register with the  Health and Care Professions Council  and the  Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. MSpchLangTher students will only be able to go into practice after the end of their fourth year.
