The programme examines new analytical frameworks relating to poverty and conflict management, and to the policies and practices by which individuals, communities and organisations seek to reduce poverty and foster social reconciliation in conflict-affected societies; it emphasises an appreciation of social difference and inequality, including gender relations, age, ethnicity and class, for an understanding of development policy and practice; it is intended for those involved in policy-making, planning or managing activities relating to poverty reduction, conflict resolution, and reconstruction and refugee rehabilitation. This course will prepare graduates for employment in a range of development-related fields, including research, policy and practice.
