In this program students must maintain a GPA of 3.00 to take Honors courses and remain in the Honors Program. All Honors Program students will be reviewed yearly. Any Honors students falling below a 3.00 GPA at the end of any year of study will be contacted and removed from the Honors Program. They are also required to complete the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Finance. The Finance program is designed to give UD students a strong training in modern financial application and theory while maintaining a wellrounded, liberal arts background needed in today's workplace. A major in Finance prepares UD students for careers in business, industry, government, and public or private corporations. Finance faculty teach theory and the application of financial concepts, designed to challenge students to think analytically and to translate abstract knowledge into sound business practices. The program design provides flexibility in the selection of humanities, social, and natural science courses. The second half of the program is concentrated in the business core and Finance major courses. These include courses such as Principles of Finance, Securities Analysis, and Financial Markets. One or more specialized seminar courses are taken during senior year in areas such as Advanced Corporate Finance, International Finance, Advanced Investments, and Corporate Governance.
