In this program students must maintain a GPA of 3.00 to take Honors courses and remain in the Honors Program. All Honors Program students will be reviewed yearly. Any Honors students falling below a 3.00 GPA at the end of any year of study will be contacted and removed from the Honors Program. They are also required to complete the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management. An integral part of the Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management curriculum is the hospitality-related work experience. Seven hundred hours documented paid work experience and 100 hours of community service are required. These combined work experiences assist in the development of a resume that meets industry needs and prepares students for the increasingly complex and challenging hospitality industry. The Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management program prepares students for rewarding careers in the hospitality industry.
