Biomedical engineering is a multidisciplinary science that covers subjects from mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material engineering, and chemical engineering to those related to nano- and micro-electromechanical technology. Applications include life sciences, basic medicine, clinical medicine, regenerative medicine, stem cell research, and tissue engineering. The objective of this program includes: the training of biomedical engineering technique; developing the strong and independent personality; and increasing the ability of management and enrich the global vision. To implement the integration of learning and enhance competitiveness, the department actively encourages teachers and students in the department to form teams to participate in various competitions at home and abroad, and the results are dazzling.

The English proficiency certificate is not required for applicants whose previous degree is from an English-speaking country (Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa or the United States of America) but the applicants have to provide their diplomas as proof. Applicants will attend basic Chinese language courses after being accepted. All new students are REQUIRED to have a health check-up for university enrollment.
