The objectives of our department are to educate students about the basic knowledge of medical science, fundamental concepts of microbiology and immunology, and their applications in future research or clinical practice. In training scientists at master and PhD levels, we emphasize communication skills, techniques for self-learning, and the discipline of academic ethics. Our department focuses on areas of bacteriology, virology, parasitology, and immunology with emphases on basic medical sciences and clinical medicine. We offer medical microbiology courses to undergraduate students, and the objective is to educate students with the basic concepts and applications of these four aspects and to provide the foundations for future research or clinical practice. The establishment of the graduate program is to coordinate with the development of our medical center to provide training in bacteriology, virology, parasitology, and immunology, and to strengthen the medical education in microbiology, immunology, and parasitology.
