NCKU values holistic education, providing creative and lively instruction that combines large- and small-class study and emphasises interdisciplinary learning. Selected courses taught entirely in English are offered in 27 departments. It has 43 undergraduate programmes, 36 independent graduate institutes and nine degree programmes.
The university has a solid foundation in engineering and then expanded into the liberal arts and sciences. They now offer a comprehensive programme list with nine colleges : Engineering, Management, Liberal Arts, Sciences, Medicine, Social Sciences, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Planning and Design, and Bioscience and Biotechnology.
