As one of the preeminent architectural programs in Southeast Asia founded in 1944, the Department of Architecture at NCKU has nurtured several generations of industry leaders specializing in design, construction and planning. Its long list of alumni have actively and directly contributed to Taiwan’s built environment and societal transformation at various scales. Our pedagogical principle is premised upon the union between teaching and research, with state of the arts facilities and qualified staffs to support student learning, including interactive flexible studio space, multipurpose room and advanced audio visual studios and more. The department is built around clusters of innovative research centers each headed by disciplinary leaders including structural engineering, environmental simulation, architectural acoustics, advanced robotic research and design methods laboratories.
Master of Techno Art is an innovative program designed for the 21st century. The program aims to equip learners to various emerging creative praxis by integrating and synthesizing the creative potentials of art and technology. Drawing resources from the Department of Architecture, Urban Planning, Industrial Design, and Institute of Creative Industries Design. The faculty and courses are interdisciplinary, entrepreneurial, and experimental with the objective to expand a learner’s imaginative potentials.
