Based on the particularity of the overall teaching and research environment of Cheng Kung University, and considering the social and human needs of southern Taiwan, the Department of Psychology is committed to the integration with other disciplines and the application of practical psychological knowledge and research methods. Based on cognitive science, the Department integrates applied sciences across different fields such as society, humanities, engineering, and medicine. At present, the department plans to construct and verify theories with sensation and perception, attention and consciousness, learning and memory, language and development, judgment and decision-making as the main axes, and the goal of applying what has been learned in practice has become the goal of applying what has been learned.

Applicants should submit all the documents as the following: A Ph.D. research proposal (Must describe interested research groups (Mind Sciences, Developmental Neuroscience, Computation Modeling and Applications), and hopeful advisor); Applicant’s background information; Transcripts; 3 letters of reference; and submitted, in press, or published papers, patents, awards, scholarships, English proficiency certificate, and other documents that may help in the application. All new students are REQUIRED to have a health check-up for university enrollment.
